As we say goodbye to The Voice 2014 Season 6 and give a big congratulations to Josh Kaufman for winning The Voice USA Season 6 last night, I have to sit back and think about seeing another season pass us by and not seeing any true stars emerge from the show that I love so dearly. We have six seasons under our belts for The Voice USA 2014 and yet, we have not seen a true star rise from the crops. So, does it even matter that Josh Kaufman won The Voice Season 6 last night? Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Josh and was rooting for him to be named the winner of The Voice 2014 Season 6. However, I look back and NBC had their big finale show last night and not one previous winner performed? Our list of winners include:
- Season 1 – Javier Colon
- Season 2 – Jermaine Paul
- Season 3 – Cassadee Pope
- Season 4 – Danielle Bradbery
- Season 5 – Tessanne Chin
Cassadee Pope has had some success in the country world, as has Danielle Bradbery with her song that was used for the 2014 Winter Olympics. However, neither of them are huge stars like Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood from American Idol fame. Sure, The Voice gets major props for a great show and a great concept, but it loses major points by not producing a star.
Can Josh Kaufman change that? I don’t think so, but he has a new Kia and a recording contract in hand and I am sure he is happy about that one!
